Why are Senior Estimator Recruiters Necessary?

Posted on Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 at 7:52 am

Working in any kind of industry means that a certain degree of planning is essential if the company is to run smoothly. The number of people that are required to run a company and those who work in it can be extremely overwhelming and things can get all the more difficult if there is a new large project at hand, something like making a spectacular building, which might have the potential to become one of the world’s leading landmarks. However, it is not always possible to connect with the right team on short notice. It is important that employers and candidates know the job requirements and expectations so that the work can be done correctly and efficiently.

Senior estimator recruiters are important because they can bridge the gap quickly and efficiently. The construction and engineering industry is vast to say the least, and many different kinds of people, having different skill sets are required. For example, an architect might have the vision to make something spectacular but he might not have the team to put the thought into practice. On the other hand, a real estate company might want to make a building that people would literally look up to but they would also need an equally good architect who would have the vision to make something so grand and spectacular it could change a city’s culture. An estimator recruiter’s job would be to attract and bring the right players to the project.

The senior estimator recruiters hire the right candidates that would be required to complete the job, be it managers, supervisors or general workers, in keeping with the total budget estimate. It is their responsibility to recognize talent when they see it. They would go through the potential recruit’s earlier works, interview him or her thoroughly and provide an opinion of whether they would be suited to the present task. Over the years, they have been the masterminds in providing some of the biggest names in the industry with some of the best talents and the results have spoken for themselves.

Five Reasons to Outsource Your Workforce for Best Employee

Posted on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 at 1:44 am

The success of a project depends on a number of variables like team size and structure, work plan, strategies and execution flow. However, more to anything else, it is the people; it is the team involved who is the fulcrum behind the success of a project. This is strongly felt in case of constructions firms where smooth execution is crucial for the success and reputation of the firm.

The management and business leaders understand this and hence spend a lot of time in selecting the right personnel fit for a particular project. This is however not easy. In such a case the most effective solution is to outsource the entire staffing process to construction staffing firms who can help you pinpoint the right candidate for your project.

So what are the benefits of outsourcing staffing process?

    • Lower cost per candidate: One of the most important benefits of outsourcing is that it helps you to get the rightly skilled candidate at reasonably lesser costs. In many cases to hire a skilled personnel requires you to pay hefty salaries. However, the staffing agencies can help you access the talents without having to pay on a permanent basis. You pay only when you have a requirement…hence helping you save unnecessary recurring costs.

    • Less Labor cost: While you opt for the outsourcing option, it helps you save money on health insurance, unemployment insurance which otherwise you would have to bear had you opted for a complete hiring procedure.

    • Simpler hiring process: Partnering with a construction staffing firm makes your overall hiring process a lot simplier. When it comes to managing a particular project, locating the rightly skilled labors and personnel becomes a huge challenge. A small mistake during the execution flow can actually cost you’re a fortune. While you delegate the staffing process to an outside energy, you can really get to focus on more important management aspects like saving on operation process, overhead costs, sales and promotion activities for the business and the like.

    • Tools and Equipments: Construction equipments generally come with a heavy price tag. But when you go for outsourcing option, a number of skilled workforces use their own construction equipment without you having to bear that expenditure.

    • Inflow of knowledge: To train up you’re an already hired workforce requires you to train them for the project rightly and this may involve hiring a senior personnel who can actually help in on job training process. However, as you work with an outsourcing partner you get to acquire that talent pool which would not just help the project run smoothly but also contribute more knowledge and expertise to your organization which in itself is an asset you can bank on for your future endeavors.

Positive Outlook for Construction Industry Growth Number

Posted on Monday, January 12th, 2015 at 1:20 am

Based on the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) latest report, there has been significant growth in construction last month and is a good sign of the construction industry’s recovery. The Chief Economist of ABC, Anirban Basu, opines that nonresidential construction has added approximately 5000 jobs in the month of November, giving a positive outlook to the industry’s growth.

The Nonresidential Construction Contribution:

On an overall basis the U.S. construction industry has added a total of 20,000 jobs in the month of November, of which 4,900 have been contributed by the nonresidential construction, reveals the Bureau of Labor Statistics in its preliminary estimate (on December 5th). Here, it can also be noted that the “greatest constraint on nonresidential job growth may no longer be a lack of demand for construction services, but rather a lack of supply of sufficiently skilled workers”, says Basu.

Further Basu observes that the industry wage pressures may expand in 2015 due to combined factors of tighter labor markets and a rise in demand for human capital, “perhaps to the extent that margins will be rendered too thin for many firms, even in the face of rising demand for services”.

He notices that it is the seasonal factors that the national construction unemployment rate has expanded from 6.4% to 7.5% in November on a non-seasonally adjusted basis. In this respect Basu says, “The construction unemployment rate has historically expanded during the colder months of the year, and November’s figure should not be seen as a cause for concern”.

The Construction Industry Snapshot:

  • The following lines summarize the construction industry’s condition in the previous year.
  • The residential building construction employment expanded in November by 3400 jobs and presently stands at 47,300 jobs (7.5%) annually
  • The nonresidential building construction employment fell ‘for the month’ by 2400 jobs but then rose by 9500 jobs (1.4%) post November 2013
  • The residential specialty trade contractors added 13,300 jobs in the month of November and in total have added 75,500 jobs (4.8%) post November 2013
  • The nonresidential specialty trade contractors have added 7300 jobs ‘for the month’ with the employment category going up by 47,400 jobs (2.2%) since the same time a year ago.

Despite the market’s improvement, the construction industry has not been able to rebound to its previous levels (pre-recession). But the ‘new normal’ gives the hope of a positive outlook in the future.
