Freescale Semiconductor hires new CEO

Posted on Friday, June 8th, 2012 at 1:47 pm

Freescale Semiconductor has now hired a new CEO, former analog chip manager at Texas Instruments, Gregg Lowe.

The current Freescale CEO already stated that he planned to retire in April,  but will remain on the board of directors for the company. The 49-year-old Lowe ran the largest part of Texas Instruments, which had more than $6.38 billion in sales.

The total revenue for this sector of business was more than Freescale’s total revenue. Freescale, based in Austin, Texas, is the largest supplier of chips to the automotive industry.
